ENDOSCOPIC BROW LIFT
WHAT IS AN ENDOSCOPIC BROW LIFT?
An endoscopic brow lift is a minimally invasive method of creating more aesthetic contours in the upper face. This procedure can lift the drooping tissue and erase the lines in the upper face that cause us to look tired, angry, worried, or sad even when we feel great.
Genetics and age are the two most common reasons a patient undergoes an endoscopic brow lift. This surgery can be a good option when a patient has asymmetrical brows or a low-set brow due to genetics.
Most often, this procedure is performed to revive an aged forehead and restore a more approachable, youthful facial appearance. An endoscopic brow lift can address many common signs of aging in the upper face, including:
- Vertical frown lines between the eyebrows
- Sagging tissue that obscures the upper eyelid area
- Low brow position
- Moderate skin laxity

WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR AN ENDOSCOPIC BROW LIFT?
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING AN ENDOSCOPIC BROW LIFT PROCEDURE
We perform endoscopic brow lifts on an outpatient basis, which means you will be cleared to go home within hours of your surgery. Every endoscopic brow lift is tailored to the patient’s treatment goals and unique anatomy, so the total surgery time varies. However, anesthesia is necessary for all endoscopic brow lift procedures.
An endoscopic brow lift requires multiple short incisions. The incisions can typically be placed discreetly behind the hairline.
An endoscope, which is a very small camera and light attached to a thin tube, will be inserted through one of the incisions. This tool allows the doctor to see the underlying forehead tissues and muscles without having to completely lift the skin.
The endoscope will stay in place while a surgical instrument is inserted through different incisions, so the brow muscles and tissue can be modified and excess fat can be removed. Small screws or sutures will be used to secure the elevated position of the brow. When this process has finished, the external incisions will be closed with sutures.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECOVER FROM AN ENDOSCOPIC BROW LIFT?
Endoscopic brow lift recovery is shorter and involves less discomfort than a more invasive, classic brow lift surgery. The average time for initial wound healing is about seven days.
Visible swelling and bruising are usually minor and can subside in less than a week for some patients. For others, these symptoms may take 10-14 days to fully dissipate.
ENDOSCOPIC BROW LIFT RESULTS
Endoscopic brow lift patients will notice results right away. The likelihood of conspicuous post-procedure marks is much lower with this surgery than with a classic brow lift.
In addition to more aesthetic brow contours, patients often report that their endoscopic brow lift resulted in a boost in self-confidence. Patients can also experience positive changes in their interactions with others due to their more pleasant resting facial expression.
The smoothing and lifting effects of an endoscopic brow lift are long-lasting. Dr. Emer can design an anti-aging protocol of periodic non-surgical cosmetic treatments to help you preserve your enhanced look as long as possible. Your personalized protocol may include:
Energy-based skin tightening
Laser skin resurfacing
Chemical peels
Medical-grade skincare products
OUR APPROACH TO THE ENDOSCOPIC BROW LIFT
Our approach to the endoscopic brow lift involves amplifying its rejuvenating effect on the facial appearance by combining it with complementary treatments. Our strategic treatment combinations may include surgical and/or non-surgical procedures.
Genetics, lifestyle choices, and other factors can affect the way the face ages. Many endoscopic brow lift patients have experienced accelerated aging in the upper face. In some of these cases, an endoscopic brow lift alone can revitalize the forehead while preserving a harmonious, natural look throughout the face.
However, more often than not, a patient will have wrinkles or sagging in the midface, lower face, and/or neck as well. Patients can benefit greatly from combining an endoscopic brow lift with one or more additional facial plastic surgeries.
Condensing the procedures into a single surgery with one recovery period makes it more convenient and expedient to achieve comprehensive facial rejuvenation. The following cosmetic surgeries can be performed with an endoscopic brow lift:
- Facelift or deep plane facelift (rhytidectomy)
- Neck lift or deep neck lift (platysmaplasty)
- Upper eyelid surgery (upper blepharoplasty)
- Lower eyelid surgery (lower blepharoplasty)
- Lip lift
If a patient has severe wrinkling and drooping in the forehead but only mild or early signs of aging in the midface and lower face, non-surgical cosmetic treatments may be an option. Non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures that can be used to complement endoscopic brow lift results include:
- Dermal fillers
- Neuromodulators
- Thread lifting
- Ultherapy
- FaceTite
- Thermage
