FACIALS

Facials are an essential part of restoring and maintaining clear, healthy, and lustrous skin. At the medical practice of board-certified dermatologist Dr. Jason Emer in Beverly Hills, facials are included in many anti-aging protocols, treatments for acne and other skin conditions, and to complement and enhance results from other cosmetic procedures.

WHAT IS A FACIAL?

Facials are skin-beautifying spa treatments that include multiple steps. The techniques and number of steps can vary from one type of facial to another, but all will typically involve cleansing, exfoliation, and the topical application of nourishing products.

Our facials can be customized to target specific skin concerns and/or problem areas. We also offer an assortment of “add-on” treatments that can be combined with our facials to take your results to the next level.

IS A FACIAL RIGHT FOR ME?

Men and women of all skin tones can qualify for a facial. You might be a good candidate if you have acne, dryness, or other topical blemishes. We also provide alternative remedies, such as chemical peels, but facials are a great first choice for patients seeking noticeable improvement with no downtime.
If you are also looking to add volume and eliminate wrinkles and fine lines, we may recommend pairing your facial with another cosmetic treatment like microneedling, dermal fillers, or laser resurfacing. One of our estheticians will perform a skin analysis during your consultation to determine your most effective action plan.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A FACIAL SESSION

The exact process of your facial treatment will depend on which approach you and your esthetician choose. In general, exfoliation is utilized to remove dead skin cells and toxins and unclog the pores. Next, the esthetician performs a deep cleanse and then carefully rubs hydrating and nourishing topicals into the skin.

We also offer more dynamic eight-step facials, such as the Enchanted Frozen Facial. Some of our treatments, like the Emerage Fire & Ice Facial, even feature a double cleanse. When you come in for your initial consultation, we will go over all the options available to you and can explain the specific steps involved in each facial you are considering, so you can make an informed decision for your care.

WHAT ADD-ONS ARE AVAILABLE FOR A FACIAL?

Facials are often done independently, but many of our patients decide to increase their benefits with add-ons. If your particular facial appointment doesn’t automatically include one of the following, ask us if it can be performed during your session:

  • LED therapy
  • Cryotherapy
  • Crystal fiber mask with hyaluronic acid and aloe vera
  • HydroJelly Mask customized to your symptoms
  • Topical oxygen infusion

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER A FACIAL SESSION

If your facial is being completed as a standalone treatment, you will be able to head home immediately after. Do not use makeup or other homecare products for the first six hours of recovery to allow the solutions we have applied to be fully absorbed. Your esthetician will provide detailed aftercare instructions for your particular facial treatment.

While some facials leave your skin red carpet-ready, others may involve short-term, minor symptoms of redness or itchiness. In all cases, please avoid scratching or scrubbing during healing.

Since your skin will be extra sensitive after a facial treatment, stay out of direct sunlight. Also, refrain from smoking and drinking for at least three days following your session.

HOW WILL A FACIAL BENEFIT ME?

Facials can deliver a wide range of benefits, including smoother, firmer skin, disappearing acne, a brighter complexion, and a more even skin tone to give you renewed self-confidence about your appearance. Treatment outcomes vary depending on the type of facial used, but be sure to follow your self-care instructions in full for faster and more profound results.

WHAT IS THE BEST FACIAL TREATMENT FOR MY AESTHETIC GOALS?

Our Spa and Aesthetic Services menu includes a comprehensive selection of rejuvenating, restorative facials. Based on your specific aesthetic goals and treatment preferences, one of our exceptionally qualified skincare professionals can determine which option is ideal for resolving your unique skin concerns.

SALTFACIAL

This facial can improve skin texture and stimulate collagen production by exfoliating with fine salt powder. Next, we’ll use Aesthetic Ultrasound massage to nourish your skin with medical-grade growth factors, antioxidants, and peptides. A SaltFacial is finished off with LED therapy.

DERMALINFUSION

Dermalinfusion incorporates wet exfoliation to thoroughly clear impurities from the skin, giving an ultra-hydrating result. Dermalinfusion can be used for both oily and dry skin.

ENCHANTED FROZEN FACIAL

This more advanced technique begins with an exfoliating mask, a sonic skincare device, and a crushed diamond abrasion pad for maximum exfoliation and cleansing. Then, the esthetician will apply a cooling masque, HydroJelly mask, and cooling serum to soothe the skin and add valuable electrolytes. Next, a Copper Tripeptide Growth Factor and Superoxide Dismutase target wrinkles and fine lines. Finally, we’ll lock in all these benefits with liquid nitrogen.

DERMAPLANING

We can begin your facial with this special exfoliation method. Besides eliminating dead skin cells and opening the pores, this strategy is also applied to remove peach fuzz and other unwanted facial hair.

OXYGEN FACIAL

Geared towards healing sun and free radical damage, this facial involves an oxygen infusion after the cleansing stage. It includes minerals, amino acids, and vitamins for enhanced restorative effects.

AQUAGOLD FINE TOUCH

Monthly Aquagold Fine Touch treatments can be an effective method of preventing acne break-outs and hydrating the skin.

AQUA GOLD

During Aqua Gold, a microchanneling device is incorporated into your facial for custom skin infusions. This facial treatment can be ideal for sun damage and acne.

FIRE & ICE

This facial involves a combination of steam, a cold mask, and ice globes for a wonderfully efficient “Fire & Ice” technique. It is further enhanced with an oxygen infusion cocktail and cryotherapy.

GAME OF THRONES

The highlights of this facial are the Hot Peel (containing a spicy cinnamon oil) to improve circulation and then an Enzyme Masque to encourage lymphatic drainage and stimulate collagen production.

LIQUID MICROCURRENT

You can tone, tighten, and rejuvenate your underlying facial muscles with this 12-week advanced program.

HOW DR. EMER DOES FACIALS DIFFERENTLY

Dr. Emer’s patients benefit from his holistic approach to cosmetic enhancement, as well as his proprietary, patient-specific combination treatments. Since the majority of patients have multiple concerns with their facial appearance, facials are often just one aspect of a personalized treatment plan.

Add-ons and additional spa services like chemical peels are just one option Dr. Emer’s patients have for maximizing the benefits of a facial. He also combines facials with state-of-the-art non-surgical cosmetic treatments that stimulate collagen production, replace lost volume, tighten skin, and augment and/or refine the contours of facial features.

He starts the treatment process by identifying the causes(s) and effect(s) of a patient’s skin condition(s) and overall cosmetic concerns. He then identifies the most effective treatment solution for each contributing factor.

As he develops a patient’s treatment plan, he thinks both short and long term. In most cases, optimal results require a strategic combination of facials, dermal fillers, neuromodulators, laser skin resurfacing, microneedling, and/or external energy-based skin tightening.

HOW MUCH DOES A FACIAL COST?

The overall price of a facial varies based on the following factors: The type of facial The number of add-ons included and their cost If it is being combined with another procedure How many sessions are needed
